About Us
Since 1992, Sheffield Financial has financed over $2.5 billion in consumer and commercial retail loans. Sheffield was established on April 1st, 1992 by Jack Snow and his wife, Bonnie.
The first year began with four employees and $3.4 million dollars in loans. As the business grew, Sheffield Financial
was acquired by Branch Banking & Trust (BBT NYSE) in August of 1997, making
it one of several wholly-owned specialized lending subsidiaries. BB&T is headquartered in Winston Salem, NC, just minutes away from Sheffield Financial, and is the 11th largest bank in the United
States. In June of 1998, BB&T acquired Dealer's Credit Inc. of Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin; this created a merger between Dealer's Credit and Sheffield Financial. Today, Sheffield Financial is a fast-growing company focused
on outdoor power equipment, powersports, and one axle trailers.
Sheffield Financial delivers competitive retail finance programs and services to selected manufacturers, dealers, and retail customers nationwide. Outstanding customer service, the quickest possible credit
approvals, and a minimum of paperwork are the cornerstone of our culture, business philosophy, and programming.
Sheffield Financial's competitive advantage lies with our
superb service. Offering friendly and professional service, with no voice mail during normal business hours, is at the heart of Sheffield's way of doing business.
In keeping with the pursuit of innovation, Sheffield Financial recently underwent a complete system conversion. The new system allows Sheffield to offer both installment and revolving loans. Also, both dealers
and customers benefit from our enhanced website with more information available at the touch of a button.
On January 4th, 2008 Sheffield Financial opened the doors to a new 50,000 square foot facility. The new state-of-the-art facility is nestled in the heart of North Carolina.
